Dear Ollie,
[I] received
your Christmas card and was glad to hear from you. [I] hope you are all right as we feel fine.
Well the holidays are over and I will have to go back to school again. We had a
little play in church and I was in it. I go to church every Sunday. We do not
have snow for the holidays. We are spending Sunday out at my Aunt’s and Uncle’s
house, where I am typing this letter. I had a nice Christmas.
I helped
decorate the tree.
Mother and
Dad gave me a wrist watch and a pen and pencil set which I like very much. I
also received two pair[s] [of] pajamas.
I wanted to
stay up late to hear the New Year bells but everyone went to bed and slept
right through the New Year. Maybe next year I will be up to hear the bells.
Hope you
had a very nice Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Yours truly,
Donald Weyland
Ollie, sorry to have missed you during
your furlough. Hope every thing is all right. [We] will try not to miss
seeing you next time. Thanks for your card.

and Mabel Weyland
