Dear Friend Oliver!
Well I
thought I would answer your letter and glad to see by the PF6 you’ve had some
kind of promotion and am sure if you keep the proper thought and mind you will
finally overcome the seeming obstacle in your path of becoming a full-fledged
Chaplain.
If your
superiors knew you the same way I know you I’m sure this obstacle could be
surmounted and swept aside as I’m sure can be done. I am not the kind and good Christian of the
caliber you are, but I have the faith and know that “All” things are possible
to God and unless I miss my guess you are going to be one. This opportunity will present itself to you. Let us both carry that thought always; and
watch God’s results.
Well you have had a change and nor
have I. I am now on the money receiving
end in the commercial dept. of the bunk, having been promoted just a week ago
and [I] like it. I take interest in my work as you also do and that inevitably
pays dividends and results as I predict it will for you too. I am earnestly looking forward to it for you.
Everything
else here is about the same and everybody at home is backing up the war effort.
I go over to the by Exchange
occasionally and help them out. Last
week we had a big snowstorm and blizzard here and you know what a large blizzard
is. Traffic is now poor and slow as a result. We are counting to a number of friends
at present, but if you or any of the boys who are in need [of] friendly mail
you can send us a couple of names and we will endeavor to write to them and if
I don’t my wife will do so for both of us. I get the magazine “Christian Boy”
quite regular, Thanks! And [I] enjoy it too. Well I’m running out of news so I
will close for now with best of luck and wishes.
As
Ever Your Friend
Jos.
