Feb. 5, 1943

Dear Ollie:

Was very glad to receive your card. And hear that you are enjoying yourself. I hope that this letter finds you in good health. I am feeling quite find.

Your mother is feeling just the same but she is now starting to get use to not having you around.

I received a letter from Bill Walthers last week and he has been Transfer, to Weston Field Massachusetts. 6th Anti – Sub. Sq. I will enclose his letter.

I having been able to get together with the boys yet over the magazine as my Boss had another baby (I mean His wife) and he has hardly been around the show at all for the past two weeks, which means that I haven’t had any days off for two weeks. But the first change I get I will get in touch with them through your mother and see if we can’t knock out and edition.

Excuse the typing and spelling, but this is my eighth letter today and my finger are sorted tired and don’t act like I want them do. Then do I was never a good speller.

I had an interview with my draft board last Thursday morning and it looks like I will be leaving very shortly. Probably in two weeks. I am trying to get a vacation the end of this month. I hope I succeed as I would like to visit all of my family before going in. But even if I get my vacation I don’t think I will be able to visit all them. As Total train fares come to over a $100.00 and I don’t know whether or not it is worth it.

They are starting to call back in a lot of “B” & “C” gas rationing books. I think that by summer they will prohibit pleasure driving. Butter milk, can goods etc. are all going to be rationing starting March 1, 1943. Clothes and shoes will be next. All in all I think it is better to be in the service then out of it.

Bob Walthers has been transferred also but I don’t know where yet.

I understand that Stanly was shipped south to Tenn. Do they really keep you fellows very busy? Everybody that I have heard from claims that they hardly have anytime to think or rest.

Well that’s about all for now their just isn’t any more.

I will write again soon and let you know when I am leaving for the Army and also any local news that might come up.

                                                                        Yours for an early VICTORY

                                                                        Arthur Jensen
