To my husband on Thanksgiving Day

1944.

I couldn’t love you more than I do –& your daughter Louise Annetta says the same. –Oh my darling –she’s so good & sweet. Your parents love her so much, too. They & Stevens sure had a nice time, I think.  I did, too.
They had such a nice dinner –Momma sure is a good cook. I didn’t help much.

I sure enjoy visiting with your folks –talking of you –Louise etc.

I sure love your mom –Gee!

I just can’t wait till the war is over. Sometimes the news is good. –Just so you’re home for thanksgiving next year –Of course

I want you a lot sooner -& I truly think you will be –but I hate to think of another week without you –another second even –oh if I could only go up to my bed and there you’d be right now.

Please take care of yourself. Your mom and I worry about you. –Be awfully careful dear. I know how busy you are –

They all thought the bracelet so lovely.

It’s so nice to be getting acquainted with your folks this way. –Next to you, it’s nice to be with your parents.

Goodnite my darling, I love you more than any girl loves her husband.  You’re the best man in the world.

                Your wife

I got a cup & saucer from Loly & Leah Jane tonite.
