My dearest!
The happy thought that I have is that you’re thinking of me on this, my birthday – Sweetheart, no letter came & it’s 2 weeks now. I know you’re ok & that you’ve written me - , & I spose it’s the winter that’s holding up the mail – but oh sweetheart, I just pray I’ll hear tomorrow, I worry a little – Please take care of yourself – cuz oh gee when I don’t get letters – Darling I love you so much.
I had a lovely birthday. I made an angel food & frosted it like Louisy’s birthday cake, remember? & we had Gertrude, Ellen, Mrs. Almos, & Paul over. – They brought me a lovely English bone china cup & saucer – silver birch. – I got two little pot holders from Aunty Clara - & lots of nice cards. & best of all the lovely bracelet from you. – I know you’re thinking of me, too. Momma had given me the collar sets & the 4 pr. Stockings – so I guess I’m pretty lucky. Dad gave me this stationery, too. Darling, they say now that winter is here –we should use V mail more – so I’ll write one every other day - & you do, too, dear as maybe that’s why yours haven’t come to me. – I love your letters so - & oh darling – I’ll never spend another birthday without you. – Oh darling I love you –
Louise has been an awful cute girl today – I just had to spank her for grabbing some of Gramma’s popcorn ball. & she’s so cute when I spank her. – She, in a few minutes, comes to kiss me. – I wish you could see her.
Will write more later sweetheart. The cup & saucer is sure cute!! – Ours.
Will play cribbage with Dad. Gertrude asked if I wanted to go to the game (basketball) with her - & I said yes, but I forgot I had a date with dad to play cribbage - so I’ll tell her no. Wish it were you & me playing cribbage.
More later – all the love in my heart
Patsy
Pearl Stiner came over to wish me a happy birthday, too.
Darling: Nov 29 – here
I played cribbage with Daddy & he beat me 7 games – I was so mad! & on my birthday, too. It’s 12 midnite rite now. – But it just goes to prove I’m lucky in love, tho’ I don’t need cards to tell me that. Oh sweetheart I pray for a letter tomorrow.
All my loveee,
Patsy your wife
Daddy says hello – Momma’s sleeping – so is Lou.
