December 19.
Looking at your picture
dear makes it so easy to write to you – you seem so close.
I
also got 2 swell letters. Nov. 29
and Dec. 6.
I’m
so glad you got a pkg. from Marie. It
must mean she’s not as sick as I thought.
–She worked too hard. I spose she won’t do it again. –I hope not.
Louise’s
dress is nearly done and is it cute! --
She was spunky today – she’s cute when she is.
–It so seldom happens. –She acted
like me when I got mad sometimes – shook her head and stomped her feet!! -- I couldn’t help but laugh at her. She probably is getting another tooth. -- and then she cried.
It wasn’t real – she was just forcing it – making a face -- and hallering and I wouldn’t look at her -- and she stopped and
said “Mommy! Look – wee (Louise) Cry” -- and then I looked and she made the
noise and face again and I said – oh darling Mommy doesn’t pay attention when
you cry! -- and so she stopped. –
When
I tried on her dress she’d say “Careful” just so plain – you see we used to try
it on with pins -- and then she got mad and wrinkled up the pretty part!! –
Honestly dear, she was cute. If she did
it often I’d feel bad – but it just today, tomorrow she’ll forget. –
She’s
so darn cute. – In fact so pretty. She brought Paul a little box of candy -- and
I guess Gertrude sent a present for Lou home with Mom.
I
got kind hearted and spoke nice and friendly to Mrs. Jensen today!! – Guess as
long as she’s leaving I can!!! – If I work I’ll miss Crosby trips. Maybe I’ll just invite myself down to your
house next month before I start work. –I
don’t know. –
Goodnite
Darling.
P.S. The war is so tragic sometimes lately it just
breaks my heart and scares me. – I hope
you move back there if you like it, but I’ll pray you won’t have to go from
there. -- -- I love you so.
