Dec. 20, 1944
To my husband –
I guess the mail man
likes me this week. I’ve rec’d 7 letters
since Monday. It makes up for my sadness of none last week. Tonite’s was Dec. 9 and besides your letter #
1 on the list I got about 30 cards and 4 pkgs.
I will – as I told before – make out a list of all the people from whom
we have rec’d cards and mail you. They
all send greetings to you! I got 2 pkg.
from Lilia – Louise, and one from J. and J. – J. and J. sent this film. I’m mailing today. So dear take some pictures of you in your
surroundings. Sweet heart if you knew
what this picture of you meant to me.
All
my friends are getting babies – from news on their cards. Frances, my good Seattle friend, is waiting
for her second and Edith. Remember the
office girl at South Jr.? Sent me a card
and she has a 10 mo. old boy. Ruth sent
me a picture of their adopted baby and she’s a dear. I’ll send it for you to see after Christmas.
I
wish you and I were together darling – our home and had Louis sister coming – don’t
you? Lou has been adorable today – and smart
– but a few minutes of spunk!
When
I tried the finished dress on her she was standing on the ironing board (iron
table, she says) and did the look sweet.
She’s spoke he pieces and jitterbugged for us. Oh she was cuter than any angel on Xmas cards
we’ve received. She’s so pretty – “jitterbug”
is a new word and “all right”.
I
must go and frost cookies. Remember last
year – I worked so hard on them and you came late that nite and oh how I love
you and wish you were here.
Merry Christmas darling –
Let it be soon that we’ll be together. I pray that all the time.
Goodnite dear.
