Letter #1.
My Darling Jeanette,
Time for another letter to you dear as I have several to answer. I wrote you last, regular airmail on June 29th. It was my last letter of the month-9 in all. It had the copy of my promotion and allotment changes. In my newt letter (regular) I’ll send you 2 money avers for $100 each to put on the house. As I wrote before I draw $190 this month and didn’t need is so put $10 more with it for you. On June 30th I read your letters #3 and 4 for June and will answer them now. On the 29th I read your letter #10 of June 17th. I now have all them #10 except #8 and 9.
Your letter #3, June 4th. How is the painting of your folk’s house going? Or did that die a natural death? You never did tell me your weight yet- either way. No- you can omit the picture of the happy dress. Did you ever send Ms. Dowell’s a 2nd set of the pictures taken of their house yet?
Your letter #4, June 6th (regular mail) with the church bulletin enclosed. Was intended to been what present you brought for everyone for birthdays and anniversaries for the folks. Did the copy of Stars and Stripes you read on the 17th come from me or direct from their office? Also did the folks get their copy? The officer’s wife who expects her husband back on leave each 16 months is going to be out of luck I think. We will be home when the war is over and not before, I’m sure. No, the only thing I want for our anniversary is to be with you but I’m afraid that won’t happen ting year again. You said you hope if it won’t seem too quiet for me when I get home. Jamais. I will be more than glad to be settled down gain.
I had a wisdom tooth filled the other day, or rather part of a filling, which was leaking, drilled, and refilled. Last Oct. I had another filling removed and replaced also. Aside from that the dentist told me my teeth are very good. Need to say by-by for now to go to dinner. Hope this afternoon off or part of it.
All my love,
Carlton
