My Darling Jeanette:

Time for another letter this afternoon. I haven’t done much today; I had half a day off. After lunch I went on the roof for an hour (one of my regular pastimes now) and then took a bath. After that I laid down for a couple of hours and am now writing you a short note. At 7:30 I am going to Brunette’s for dinner. I wrote you before I have an invitation to their home each Sunday night for dinner, nothing interfering. Am taking them a few things as usual- soap, candy, and cigarettes.

Today I was fortunate again to receive another letter from you, dearest- # 3- July 6th and also dad’s letter of June 25th. I wrote you last Friday Vmail and the folks yesterday V mail.

Will answer a letter or two now. Your # 13 – June 24th received July 7th. The weather here is just about like what you had in June when you wrote. But inland it is much hotter – over 100 usually and that is just about 20 miles inland too. The hot winds blow up from the desert (about 100 to 150 miles inland). About packages- I received safely the packages of uniforms with all the contents. The leaves, the box sent early in June (candy and belt) and the one sent early this month have not arrived.

Your regular letter #14 – June 26th, received July 14th. No, I do not want you wearing slacks to work either. I don’t approve. You surely are tied down when you have week –and duty. Glad you liked the pictures in my June 6th letter, also the m.o. I sent you $200 is mo’s in # 3 letter this month registered mail. About peckles – my forehead has healed up entirely so I have no worry about my face now. About my razor – the Sunbeam is all right but I want two on hand in case one goes bad. Yes, I know Sullivan’s on Broad Ave. They used to run the store on the corner. Thanks much for the clipping about Bill Abaneon. Irene does look old. Thanks much too for the five pictures. Those of you are not so hot. Stay out of the sun next time. The one with Ginger is very goods the yard also. About insane tax- I find you will have to report my insane (no allowances) on that Sept 15th report but don’t pay any tax on it until next March. Also remember the extra $15.00 deduction above others. All my loves and kisses to you, sweetheart, as I dream each day of you.
