Dear Thomas,

Well this is the evening before election. Tom came home early and we washed the car and he is all ready for it tomorrow, I hope it comes out all right but if it don’t we will get along all right anyway.

Well today was a sure pretty day and I think tomorrow will be nice too. It has got a little cooler but that is all well Mrs. Reeve took her redo over to Mrs. Smith so she could take care of it for her. Mr. Reeve joined the navy. I think Mr. Mongre talked him into this, well Thomas the party down at art creation Sunday they sure did have a crowd even Grover Jocks was there. William Berk is going to take tonight over Lorene. Well Thomas did you get Peggie Packe yet or did you get Romania yet. I got a letter today from you and last Wednesday we got three letters from you but we didn’t get any from Wednesday until today but that is not bad if I get one a week that won’t be so bad but if we have to wait a month or more that will be bad but we can take it now if you can and I know you can for you are a brave soldier so now whichever way it goes don’t go very far we will make it and Naomi will too until you come home. Well Tom got us another case of Cola from Mr. Orale the other day so now you know we are getting along all right, well I will close for this time.

Think of now the chickens are sure nice they are almost ready to lay they are sure nice and Red we have fed them three sacks of laying mash so we can have chicken if we can’t have milk. Well I will close for now, Mother and dad.
