My Dearest Darling Wife,
Hello sweet little angel, how is my darling little wife. Awful, awful sweet I know and fine I hope. You had better be dolly. Gee darling I got the sweetest letter from you today and was I ever thrilled to get it darling. I got one from the folks to honey. They were both the first of September Honey so that wasn’t so bad. You wrote me two letters on the first darling, gee but you are sweet dear. I don’t suppose we will get out mail as good as we have been Honey cause we are under a different command now and I don’t think the service either way will be as good. I sure hope it is as good though. Gee darling your sweet letters mean so darn much to me and they are so precious. They make me so darn happy and make me feel so wonderful all over dear. Gosh Honey you are so darn sweet to write me a letter during the day when you aren’t so busy. You are so awful, awful sweet Honey and gee I love you so darn much dearest. Honey I sure hope you are getting my letters all right now dearest.
I am feeling fine now dearest and getting along all right. I have plenty of everything now dearest. Well sugar it is really hot here today. It rained off and on all morning and boy then when the sun would come out it sure was awful. Gosh Honey I am so darn tired of these places I don’t know what to do. It will be such a happy day when I am headed out of these tropics and back toward your sweet arms darling. Well Honey I worked the regular day shift again today, all through work now and cleaned up and it is a little after four. Honey we had that picture, “The Hairy Ape” here a couple of nites ago. It was pretty good I thought to dear. We are going to have some kind of stage show tomorrow nite. It is put on by soldiers that go from camp to camp putting on shows. Gee darling it will be so darn wonderful when we can go to the show together and be together wherever we are at, every minute of the time darling. We will be so darn happy and everything will be so heavenly dearest.
Darling you was saying that Noels gave you a little spritz dog. I’ll bet he sure is cute Honey and brown and white you said to darling. Is he full grown yet honey or just a pup. Don’t forget to take that picture for me like you said now dear. He sure will be a lot of company for you darling and like you said Honey our mascot. You will have to teach him some tricks Honey dear. I’ll never forget Bing Honey and how bad you felt when he died. I sure like a good little dog and always had one until I moved down there where the folks live now. Don’t forget [to send] me a picture of you and him now dear.
Honey you was saying that Mother had called you that morning just before you wrote me and she wanted to know what you wanted for your birthday and you told her all you wanted was me. Honey dear you are so darn sweet and gee how I wish I could give you that birthday present Honey. Darling you know that is all I want to, you darling and Honey I know we will fulfill our wishes by the time our birthdays roll around again. Gosh no our birthdays won’t be happy ones until we are back in each others arms dear but they will be so awful, awful happy when we are back together. Honey we are sure going to make up for all these [days] we have been apart to. Won’t it be wonderful dear and we will be the happiest little couple on earth.
Honey dear I sure hope this finds you feeling swell and everything going along all right in every way at home. It will be so swell when we are back together and look after each otherall the time dear. Honey I sure do remember how you used to look after me and if I had a cold or didn’t feel good you would try to get me to take something before I went home and lots of times you would go in and get me something and make me take it before I went home. Darling how well I know what a wonderful little nurse I will have when I get home cause I know what a wonderful little nurse you was when I was going with you dearest. We will sure look after each other in every way Honey and it will be so darn swell to be able to take care of each other all the time.
Darling you are so darn sweet and I love you so awful, awful darn much and you know I always will dolly. You are so sweet and so precious in every way Honey and I love you so much sweetheart. Gee darling I am so darn lonesome for you and want to see you so darn bad I don’t know what to do. Two years away from each other now dear and gee it seems like twenty. I never will forget that nite we parted on Mrs. Green’s porch Honey. We thought we was going to be seeing each other in a few weeks and here it has been two years. It has been so darn hard on us dear but we have made the best of everything and I know everything will all turn out swell for us dear. We have been so happy to know we really belonged to each other dear and gee we are so happily married and love each other more every day dear. Honey I know god will answer our prayers and keep us safe and bring us together as soon as possible now. Please take good care of my precious parts Honey, gee but they are wonderful. Yours are fine dear, miss you so darn much. You are the sweetest and most adorable little wife in this world dear and I love you so darn much and you know I always will dear.
