Dear Thomas well this is Christmas day and dad and I got
ready yesterday about noon
and went over to Peggie’s and then when we got up
this morning it had rain some time in the night and the ground was a sheet of
ice so we did not even stay for dinner we tore right out for home and dad had
to get out and Pat on the changed and the car was all covered with ice and when
we got home he was afraid to go over to Naomi but I told her if it got bad we
would not try and come over for you know how hard hit it is for dad to drive
but maybe some of them will come here so she can have her Christmas present
from us anyway but if they don’t we will take them to her as soon as the ice go
off. Well Joyce sure was surprised anyway I got her doll that the sister give
me and she thought it was a Basket of fruit and she said it for mother and when
she got up she said to Peggie don’t you want to open
your present and Peggie said no you open it and then
when she seen it was a doll she look at me and run and jumped in my lap and
hugged me around the neck and kiss me she sure was surprised and tickled too.
She is sure some girl but you know she look just like she always did I don’t
see much difference in her, and she sure did get lots of nice presents and Peggie give me a nice slip and Joyce give me some toilet
powder and you new bath salts and stuff like that, and dad he got his Rigly Son of Prince Albert and a set of Beer Bottles you
know little one. Salt and pepper shakers.
Well the
day is gone and no one came I guess it was too slick for any of them to venture
out too. Well I sure was glad when we got home from Peggie’s
for I was scared that someone would slide into us and smack. Well I call Naomi
tomorrow and see how she is. Well I sure do hope your all right and I hope you
got all your boxes by now Peggie and Joyce sent you
one too they told me they did. Well I close for tonight so answer as soon as
possible, mother and dad.
