My Dearest Darling Wife,

Hello sweet little angel, how is my darling little wife. Awful, awful sweet I know and fine I hope. You had better be dolly. Gee Honey I just received the sweetest letter from you and I was so thrilled to get it dearest. I also received two from the folks and one from one of my buddies that went home. Yours was April the nineteenth dear so that was sure good time. Gee darling your precious letters mean so awful darn much to me and they are so darn sweet. They make me so awful, awful happy dearest and make me feel so awful, awful happy dearest and make me feel so wonderful all over. Just gives me the grandest feeling when I get your heavenly letters dearest. I sure do hope you are getting my mail all right now dearest. Honey dear you are so darn sweet and I love you so awful darn much.

I am feeling fine now dearest and getting along all right in every way now. I have plenty of everything now dearest. Well Honey it has been a nice day here but so awful hot. Boy it sure is a hot place and we don’t get much rain any more. Sure hope you are having some nice weather now dearest. You should be getting some real warm weather now, here it is right at the first of may. Well I worked today honey and put in a pretty good day. We was finishing up a road we built and you have to watch what you are doing all the time when you are finishing up. Go on the nite shift next week. Kind of glad of it cause it is sure some cooler working at nite. It is plenty hot at nite to, the perspiration is rolling of me now like some one was pouring water on me.

Honey dear you know I ate one can of my cookies and then started on my other one and there was candy in the bottom of that can. Gosh Honey you are so awful wonderful to me. It sure is good candy to dear and I sure enjoyed it. Boy Honey those cookies were certainly delicious and I just keep eating them all the time when I was around the tent my buddies sure did like them to. Gee darling you always send me such swell boxes and I am so awful happy to get them dear. Darling it will be so swell when I am back in your precious arms and can get you things once again.

Well dearest we get a vaccination yesterday so a sore arm today. It sure does itch to but have to refrain from scratching it. They sure do make a pin cushion out of you when they give you one to. You sure do have to take a lot of shots and such to stay in this part of the country. I have sure got a lot of them since I been in. Some really make you sick and then others aren’t bad.

Well Honey this buddy that I got the letter from yesterday was spending his twelve days rest time after his furlough and was in Santa Ana, California. He says you get twelve days or more at the rest camps and it just costs a dollar and a quarter a day to keep your wife right there with you and said they really have everything to eat to. Gee but I hope they don’t bust this outfit up and put us in something out of the air corp cause the other outfits don’t get as good a break [I] don’t think. Gee darling wouldn’t it be wonderful to spend our furlough together and then take a train trip together to California or Flordia and be able to stay together for another couple of weeks and then maybe be able to take the train together for another couple of weeks and then maybe be able to take the train together to my camp where I go. Gee darling I hope so much that everything turns out all right in every way with us and we get the same chance that a lot of couples are getting. It will be so awful heavenly when our day comes dearest and we will be out just how things are. Just able all of them are being assigned to the air corp. One fellow lived in Colorado and he spent his furlough there and then went back to California for his rest and reassignment and he was assigned to some air base in New York, he sure did do a lot of traveling, clear across the U.S.

Well Mother was telling me in her letter today that she was talking to Aunt Maude and she was telling her about Lillian. She said this guy she was running after wasn’t worth a darn and didn’t have a thing. Aunt Maude went and tried to talk to her but she said it didn’t do no good. Boy Honey if that isn’t about as low down as anyone can stoop. There her husband is over on the other side and probably trying to dodge bullets twenty four hours a day to try and make the world safe and a free world to live in and her running after some no good draft dodger I suppose. I sure do feel sorry for him. We had a fellow here in our outfit got a letter the other day and he was congratulated by his wife with a new son. He came over seas with me, almost twenty-eight months ago. I guess she got caught and couldn’t do anything about it. I sure don’t see what some people are thinking about. Gosh Honey we are so happily married and our love is the real true love darling and straight from the heart. We always have and always will trust each other dearest cause we really know that our whole life belongs to each other and that no truer love is to be found. Gosh Honey things like that don’t even enter out minds cause we have our love for each other on our minds and things like that don’t bother us in the least way. Honey I know that there isn’t or never will be a happier married couple than us. Gosh Honey you are so darn sweet and I love you so awful much/

Honey dear you are so sweet and I love you so awful darn much and you know I always will dolly. Gosh Honey we are so happily married and love each other more every day. Gee darling won’t it be heavenly when our day comes and we can have our plans and dreams come true. We are really going to be close together all the time dolly and what I mean really close. Sure glad you mention about the things we got over at the bees depot dear cause we are sure going to try everything and every way to darling, how about it dear. Gosh Honey won’t it be wonderful to have plenty of room and not be all cramped up and dearest it is sure going to be continuous to. Darling I know god hears our prayers and will keep us safe and bring us together as soon as possible now. Please take wonderful care of my precious parts dearest, gee but they are wonderful and I love them so darn much. Yours are fine dolly, miss you so awful much but they will be together before long darling. Gosh Honey won’t it be wonderful without the towel and right together all the time. Gee but we have everything planned so perfect dear and it will be so wonderful when our day comes. Honey dear you are the sweetest and most adorable little wife in this world and I love you so awful darn much and you know I always will dolly.

Well sug I guess I had better close for this time and I’ll write you as soon as possible now dearest. I’ll be looking for your precious letters now dolly. Please be awful, awful careful now dearest and take wonderful care of my sweet little wife. Remember now dolly keep that sweet little chin up and always happy. Tell all hello dearest.
