August 13, 1945
Dear Thomas well here I am again and
I got a letter from you today. You wrote it the 4 of August and I sure was glad
to get it and glad to know you were all right. Well the old war is still not
over yet but I don’t think it be so much longer now but this was terrible to
get the people all worked up and the boys to. I know they must be disgusted.
Well we are both all right tho it has been awful hot
the last two or three days. You ask me where Charlson
boy was at. He is in Hunlonina I believe. Either
there or Hawola
Island but he works in
the office and he said he would be one of the last one to get to come home but
he has not been over there very long yet. Well today was Aunt Filo birthday. I have not get her
anything yet but I am going to get her something before I see her. And Peggie is the 20 of August so I got to get her something to
and then Naomi is in September and yours is to but I save yours for when you
come home. I know you won’t have to stay over there Shirley very long after it
all over. Well I close for tonite so answer as soon
as possible mother and dad.
