Hello Darling!
Don’t be too excited over the salutation! I’m not fishin’ for anything, just a different method of attracting the attention of the most wonderful person who ever lived!
Wish you were here to enjoy this perfect fall day; although this morning was cool and crisp, the sun has appeared to warm up the place, and if it weren’t for studying for a final, I’d put on all my best clothes and do something right rash! (Imagine it?).
As I told you yesterday, I’ve positively given up ever seeing both my gust and your Philco- now, it’s been almost 2 weeks that they’ve been on the Road- surely they’re nearing the waterfront. In speculating, I’ve guessed that everyone was coming out here except you; Mildred suggested you! Now, I know that’s out, because you wouldn’t fool around to get here, huh?
You mentioned that you were quite busy doing interesting work; that’s fine and relieves my apprehension considerably. I do want you to be fairly happy. Darling, it would [be] awfully selfish of me not to want you to be happy or to have wanted you not to have been able to go to another country, and, as you said in that previous letter of October 4; these two years we wish could have been lived differently, however we can’t regret them; we are preparing for a marvelous future- one which we like to feel, is perfect- beyond our comprehension at this time.
Next week your Pet will be a senior!
Remember I love you,
Berna Lou
