Saturday PM
My
darling,
Just came home from San Francisco,
after visiting with Leona. It does my heart good to talk with her. Her husband
is leaving in Feb. and she’s rather upset of course, but is being extremely
brave. I admire her so much. She plans to either go back to Cal. for post work
or get a job.
Gee, Pat - you’ll never know how
happy I am to get these two projects in. The one for 151 didn’t represent my
best; Nursing 416 represents my best - plus! Gee, it won’t be long until finals
again. As I look over what I’ve written thus far, I’m down-right ashamed of
both my faulty grammar and my horrible writing. I’m sort of slap-happy! Received two letters from you - Jan. 3rd and 4th.
You’ve been writing so wonderfully, but Darling, I’m terribly worried over you
and I’d probably be frantic if I weren’t so awfully busy right now! That heat
situation sounds serious. Do people gradually become acclimated? About the
salt, I’d give up tablets for a short time and try eating a lot of salt on
food, will you? You, of course, understand that NaCl
retains (helps!) fluids in the tissues – etc. By the way, do drink your milk like
the angel you are!
Love,
Berna
