Saturday Morning

My Darling;

            Once again I shall repeat the affidavit. As I’ve mentioned before and I hope you have received the message, my residence definitely yours.

As I recall, at the time we came to California, we made up our minds to become permanent residents. I have consulted with Mr. Purcell, an attorney, and he informs me that despite the fact that you were in military service, did not preclude you from establishing residence in California. Will you, therefore, make a statement and swear to it before your commanding officer and have him certify to your signature that when we came to California on May 1, 1942, it was the intention of each of us to become permanent residents of this state. Please send this affidavit to me at once.

As ever,
Berna Lou
