Saturday Night
My
Dearest Ken,
It’s so beautiful outside and I’ve
had to do a lot of studying—had to figure out those vital statistics rates for
419 and then make a bibliography for a term paper if Psychiatry. I still don’t
know what I’m supposed to write a term paper about. Everyone seems to be in the
dark about the issue—we are supposed to write a theme on “Anxiety”. Can you
figure it out? So help me God, it’s my last theme so I shall produce something
tonight! If only I know where to draw the line for the paper, half of my
trouble would be over.
The news now is that the Allies will
not bomb Rome if the Germans will withdraw. According to the radio reports, the
Germans are considering withdrawing their troops,
however, I’m afraid the bargain won’t be accepted by Germany.
Are
you happier now that you are settled back in our old job and among your old
friends, I hope? Do you see Wickes and his wife very often? Aren’t you near
this club where you used to play snooker?? By the way, there are lots of places
to play snooker right here in Oakland, and I had never noticed them until you
mentioned the subject. Isn’t the game similar to billiards?
Write to me real soon; haven’t
had a letter for over a week and I miss them so and I also miss you too, Darling,
As ever,
Berna Lou
