My Dear;
Have been pretty busy as per usual.
By the time I get home from San Francisco, 6:30, I’m really too tired to care
whether or not I eat dinner and really want to flop into bed and let things go
at that.
Field work is quite fascinating, but I know so
little about this type of nursing. To me, Public Health Nursing seems so much
more professional than a hospital routine- where one does the same thing day in
and day out. In P.H.N one actually helps a human soul in a unique way, by
helping him to solve his own problems. It seems that the keynote of this new
gospel is prevention of illness and defects, etc, through education for every
phase of life. On Saturday, I have an appointment to visit “Planned Parenthood”
office- “Maternal Health Clinic” and since that is one of my monomaniacs. I
want to really take it all in! You know by now that I believe in birth control
in extreme low econs. groups
and in case physical or mental defects which may be continual in next
generation, while, on the other hand, I think the healthy and higher econ. bracket of people should be encouraged to have a family.
