My Dear,
Received 3 letters from you today; July
16-(17-17)-18 you’ve asked personal questions- am not trying to evade any of
them! First, I am missing out some copies of “Popular Science,” but they’ll be
here when you arrive home. I have planned to send a subscription- I’ll catch up
someday! Incidentally, I think it is a marvelous idea to budget our money and
save back some for magazines. Your list is just about complete, with [the]
exception of Atlantic Monthly. Do you read it? “Better Homes and Garden” is a necessity;
also your idea of binding the copies is perfect. They are better preserved that
way and look neater too. I’m afraid though that it will cost more than $25,
including our professional magazines. You know, I’m so excited to know you’re
interested in a musical library and that one thing I’d like for a hobby- Also
you must take piano lessons, darling!!! Now, about the hiking- Honey, it all
depends upon how I feel by then. Right now, the expectation of a hike isn’t too
exciting; you see, I walk (per food) at least 15 mi. over Civic Center- can
think of nothing better than sitting in the middle of my bed and reading a
nice, quiet love! Perhaps I’ll change though. By the way, bet you the Russians
beat us to Belgium. What do you think?
Kisses XXX,
Berna Lou
