Friday Night

Dear Ken;

            As soon as I finish this letter, I shall go to Berkeley and spend the night with Mrs. Ronald, a friend, who helps with this Home Nursing class over there. Her husband is a lawyer and works in Berkeley. Am I glad the weekend is here. My ingrown toe nail is giving me fits. Last night, Bob Hoffman out a v in the nail and scratched it and said that was the best way to fix it. It really doesn’t hurt as badly, and it may give me relief in time; at least I hope so.

            Haven’t received any of your letters for quite some time now, and when they do start coming, there will be a big handful, I’ll bet! There are times when I want to see you so badly that I hardly know how to get along. After we are together again, there are so many things I want to discuss with you, that you will just have to take time out and answer all my questions.

            How is the weather in Brisbane? Spring should be on its way now. Do you see the Wickes’ very often? When is Bill due to return? Can he ask to stay over there or will he have any choice in the matter? Am awfully curious about things that are none of my business.

            Darling, you have never sent me your measurements for a new blouse and that’s what I want to get you for Christmas! I picked out a couple of things and mailed them just for fun, but they aren’t really gifts! Please send me your measurements for this blouse like a good darling.

            Love,
Berna Lou
