Wednesday evening
Sept. 19th
My dear Fran: -
As you might see from the stationary I'm writing this letter from the U.S.O. in Macon. This particular U.S.O. is located in the Catholic Church, I'm with Joe D. thats why I'm in this one although all is welcome you don't have to be a Catholic. Its quite nice in her they have ping pong tables, record recorder, hobby room, lounge, showers, place to press your clothing, refreshment stand so if you're broke its a good place to come and pass a few hours. We spent the whole morning on the B.A.R. after dinner we had to clean our rifles for inspection also practise for this Regimental Guard Mount. I certainly won't do anything this week end as guard starts at 6:00 P.M. Saturday evening and lasts until 6 P.M. Sunday. We must walk guard two hours then off four and back on again 2 hours in other words we walk guard four times in twenty four hours. Bob isn't with me tonight as he's barracks orderly today so he dare not leave until 9 P.M. Honey you certainly are slipping because its been two days and no mail from my honey. They just issued us mackinaws today so they must expect it to get cold soon. We don't start wearing our O.D.'s until Oct. 15th thats our woolen I'm referring to. Still waiting for that package I don't believe you're sending me any. When you take some more picture don't forget to send me a set. I'll send you some after I get the film you said you had for me. Don't know what I'll be doing tomorrow but when I write I'll tell just what I did for the day. Well honey I guess you haven't forgotten I still love you so be a good girl. Remember me to your folks, Janie, Geo. & Blanch, and all my other friends. Starting hitting that typewriter you're falling behind.
With all my love,
Your honey.
