Monday eve.
Sept. 24th
My dear Fran: -
Received
your air mail today and was very happy to hear the news. I knew my honey
wouldn't disappoint me. Honey after you get in touch with Mrs. D. let me know
at once exactly when you are leaving so I can make arrangements ahead of time
at the guest house. It will cost us .50 c apiece per day in
other words $1.00 per day for three days. We will have to eat in
town unless you want to get a bite at the Service Club (across the street from
the guest house). You will get here Friday some time and I'll be off until 6
o'clock Sat morning then I won't see you again until Sat. afternoon and I'm
going to ask for a pass until 6 o'clock Monday morning. If you should stay
longer and I hope you do I will see you in the evenings until midnight. Honey
as far as I'm concerned you can stay here with me until I finish my cycle. I
love you and I want you with me. Dear you asked about Mrs. D. and Joe says
she's very nice and easy to get along with so I told him you were the same way
so you should get along fine. She smokes and drinks and also likes a good time
they have five children. That would be nice if you could go to Fla. and visit
Mary but why don't you drop her a line and tell her when you're coming and
maybe she will arrange to come up she might even take a couple of rooms with
you then Bob and I could come in nights to see you both. I had K.P. today and
didn't finish until 8:15 then took a shower and went up to the P.X. and had
three beers. I'm sitting out on the back porch writing with Joe, Norm, Bill C.,
Albright all of us writing our honeys. Last night all of us went to the show
and seen "Love, Honor, and Goodbye" very good. Tomorrow we go out on
the range and fire the B.A.R. so it won't be so tough. Wednesday night we have
a beer party at the Mess Hall its for the whole company. A lot of our non comms
are being shipped even our Company commander has notice to leave Thurs. for the
So. Pacific so its hard telling just whats coming off. I certainly wish I had
that baby I wanted a long time ago I'd stand a much better chance of getting
out. If you want to bring something O.K. but for me I'd just as leave do
without but according to your letter you still insist on putting it off. If we
wait much longer we'll be too [edited for content] old to enjoy it but I guess
you're still the boss when it comes to that. Norm took some pictures yesterday
so as soon as they are developed I'll send you a set also a set to my folks.
Well dear don't forget and send me word as soon as you make definite plans.
Don't forget that fifth even two if you have the cash. I can't think of
anything else besides that and the camera so I'll close and write tomorrow
night. Remember I love you and I'll be counting the days until I can be with
you it will be like forever. Tell your folks I said hello also my friends.
With all my love,
Your honey.
P.S- Send your answer air mail.
I.L.Y.
