My dear Fran: -

Just got up and had breakfast and its now about 11 o'clock so I'll write my honey. I received you three letters and was surprised but very pleased I really hadn't expected any mail until I got to Japan. Last night Stan, Cookie, Bob, and myself went into Frisco on a little sight seeing tour of our own. I mailed you a letter I picked up in Chinatown which is self explanatory but I can tell you more by writing myself. First we stopped at Marina a little town outside Frisco as Bob was shopping for films, we then visited Fisherman's wharf seen Joe DeMaggio's place but didn't go in as it's too expensive, from there we took a cable car and went up to Nob Hill. Up there we visited Chinatown, wnet in a Chinese Temple, then we went on up to the Mark Hopkins Hotel then cocktail lounge is at the very top of the hotel and overlooks the city of Frisco, honey that's really a pretty sight. All four of us talked about how nice it could be if only our wives could be there enjoying it with us. Honey I mean it from the bottom of my heart I wish you could be with me, maybe when I come back you can meet me in Frisco. From the hotel we went back to Fisherman's wharf and had sea food to eat I was very dissappointed in the sea food it wasn't good at all. After we finished eating we hitch hiked back to camp getting here about 2 A.M. Honey I'm seeing a lot of things I'll probably never see again but I certainly wish you could be with me to enjoy it as I know how you like to travel and sight see. Honey I sent you a little pair of pink panties from Chinatown you should get a kick out of them. Well dear maybe you're getting tired of me telling you but I don't want you to think any differently because I love you more than anything in the world and always will. Give my regards to your folks and keep in touch with my folks. Be good and keep writing.
