My dear Fran:
I was disappointed as I didn't receive any letter yesterday. I didn't write myself so I should talk. Yesterday we played rummy a couple of hours and slept the rest of the day. Cookie and his wife picked us up after supper as they wanted some company. His wife got a pretty good load for herself. They started to do his laundry yesterday and ended up by drinking all afternoon, just like we do once in awhile. You heard me speak of Bob M. well he’s ineligble to go with us to Tokyo as he's been in 19 months so he's getting shipped to Fort Lewis in the state of Washington. Well honey I had a great thrill this morning. Stan and myself went up in a big C-54, that’s the type we fly to Tokyo in. We were up for 1 ½ hours, flying at 5000 feet, over Frisco and out over the ocean. After you once get up its great fun, very smooth riding. On Monday I wrote to you, Verna, and Bill H. so I should be getting lots of mail soon. We still haven't heard when we might be leaving, there seems to be a lot of cargo with a higher priority than we have that must go first so when they get rid of it we will probably go. Tomorrow is pay day and I'm certainly glad of that. Cookie and his wife want Stan and I to go out to supper with them tomorrow night so I guess we will. Honey I seem quite sure I can send you my whole pay when I hit the other side so when you receive it either get yourself what you want and deposit the balance so maybe when I get back we will have something to start on. I told Verna not to bother with the sweater as the one she gave me is enough. As soon as I hit the other side I want you to send my a couple of cartons of cigarettes every week. They are hard to get over there and they worth a lot of money. We had our second plague shot yesterday so I hope the [edited for content] they keep that needle out of us for awhile. Well honey as per usual, so you won't forget. I still love you more than any thing in the world and always will. Be good and write every day, give my regards to your folks and all our friends. Honey I could stand one of your big kisses, hugs, and --- .
With all my love,
I love you
Your honey.
