My dear Fran: -

Happy Valentine's day dear. Just had mail call and I received your two letters one with the three dollars and the other with the postage stamps. Thanks a lot thats a big help. I understand you have bills to pay but I was flat for so long I had to ask for a couple. I won't do it again unless I get bad off. You need not worry I'm not going to play cards with the money. We play rummy every day but we keep score on paper and we are going to pay off in "Yen" when we hit Tokyo. We've been playing for over a week and I think I owe about $1.75 so thats cheap entertainment. Didn't do any thing exciting yesterday, slept all morning played rummy, listened to the radio in the day room then went to bed. I got up a little early than usual today I got up at 9:30 laid around read the paper played some ping-pong and I'm now writing my honey. By the way if you get a copy of the Saturday Evening Post, Feb 16th edition there's a write up and several pictures of San Francisco all of which I've seen. There's even a picture from Atop the Mark. Even the write up is good reading so get one and it will give you a little idea of what I've seen since I've been out here. Honey I'm glad mother & dad also Verna are being nice to you because you can spend some of your lonely evenings in their company. I certainly wish you could spend your evenings in my company then I really would be happy. Honey I don't think I'll have too much trouble getting a job when I get [back] because I may stay in the same line of work I'm doing now. Just so we might have a nice home, car, and be happy. I still love you and you're all I want so be a good girl and I'll be a good boy. Give my regards to your folks tell George I'll write in the near future. Give my regards to Clarence and I'll drop him a line from the other side. Don't worry about me finding out which way it runs, I know which way yours runs and thats the only one I'm interested in. Remember honey I love you.

With all my love,

Your honey.

P.S.

I'll wire when I leave providing I have the opportunity.
