My darling Fran:-
Well dear its past my bed time but before I turn in I’ll scribble my honey a few lines. As usual we played poker the biggest part of the day. We got up this morning with the expectation of playing baseball but it was raining so that was out. Most of the fellows worked on their reports which is a big job in itself. We started playing about 10 o’clock and played until dinner after dinner Stan and I went to the Ernie Pyle theatre and seen The Road to Utopia, starring Bing Crosby, Bob Hope, and Dorthy LaMour. They had a stage show also but it didn’t amount to much. After the show we went over to the Finance Bldg. got a shoe shine and had three bottles of beer in the beer hall. After supper we started playing poker again and just finished up about 11:30 so that gives you some idea of how I’m spending my time. The cherry blossoms are starting to bloom and they are very pretty, wish you could see them but I hardly know how that can be arranged. Well dear you’re probably going to be mad when you get such a short letter but I’m at least writing to you and thinking of you. If you’re thinking of me as much as I’m thinking of you I really don’t know how you can get your work done. Honey I love you more than anything in the world so be a good girl won’t you. Give my regards to your folks and all our friends. Write everyday even when you don’t have anything to write about.
With all my love,
Your honey.
