My darling Fran:
How’s thing going in the other half of the world. Over here its the same old story, just putting in time. We were all invited by some rich man here to go on a picnic today but Jim and I didn’t care to go so we stayed in and read all day. We only went outside long enough to pick up our rations. The other fellows returned home about 3 o’clock and said they had a nice time including a large dinner with plenty of beer and liquor. Before supper we started playing bridge and I might say I’m getting better. We played until supper then after supper we all had our baths and since that time have just been sitting around shoting the bull and drinking beer. I washed my hair tonight and as usual its all over my head, you’ve washed it enough dear to know how it is right after its been washed. I haven’t had any mail since your letter I received along with the package so I know there’s lots of mail awaiting me somewhere, probably all in Tokyo. You probably have a map and can see where I’m situated in regards to Tokyo as thats where all the mail goes originally. Tomorrow I have a trip to make which will probably keep me out all day, must take the interpreter with me so I’ll have company anyway. I hope the weather clears up as its raining at the present time. Well darling I know I haven’t said much but at least I’m writing which is the same I expect of you, regardless of the news you have I want you to write anyway. Before I close just one little reminder, I love you more than anything in the world and always will. You’re my darling and my only darling so be good dear. Keep the letters coming. Give my regards to your mother and dad, Geo. & Blanch, and all our friends. In your next package send some more dates and Yardleys shave bowl if you can get it, you might also send me a crossword puzzle book to keep my mind occupied.
With all my love,
Your honey forever.
P.S. Give that fellow setting on top the bureau a big kiss because he loves you.
