My darling Fran:
I didn’t
get to write you last night so I’m writing you from the office this morning.
You will get it the same time because our mail doesn’t go out until 11 o’clock
each morning. Last night we went out to M.G. and seen a movie, I had seen it
before but nevertheless it was something to do. The movie was the “Dolly
Sisters”. After the movies we went up to the officers home and had a couple
bottles of beer. There were a couple of British officers, the chief of police
and his asst., M.G., and ourselves so we just sat around shooting the bull. We
didn’t get home until after 11 o’clock so I was rather tired and went right to
bed. Yesterday morning Mike and myself went out to
Wada to pick up more supplies, we are really getting stocked up because
goodness knows what the British will give us after Battalion moves out. In the
afternoon I didn’t do a thing besides get my watch fixed, it was running fast,
and get a hair cut so honey that just about takes in everything for yesterday.
They are doing very well with the house and expect to have it finished by June
10th. They are planting palms and scrubs all around the yard so when
they finish it should be very pretty. I still prefer to be living in any old
shack back home as long as my darling and I could be together. Honey I miss you
terribly and it seems to be getting worse all the time, I mean lonelier but as
we always say there’s nothing we can do so will have to be patient and sweat it
out. Darling I love you more than anything in the world and always will.
I don’t want another soul in this world but “
With all my
love,
Your
honey forever.
P.S.
If you have
any more pictures I’d love them. Take a picture of Geo. & Blanch also one
of the house they bought and send them.
