My darling Fran:

Just closed up the office so while I’m waiting from supper I’ll get my letter to my darling finished. I know after supper some one will want to play baseball or volley ball then when it gets dark they’ll say how about some bridge which means midnight again. The best idea I think is to get your letter taken care of first then play afterwards. Since it was only a few hours ago that I wrote to you I won’t have so much to say in this letter. I wrote a nice letter to Harry D. and I still have Verna’s and George’s letter to answer. We had the Mayor and Asst Mayor here for dinner and they really enjoyed themselves. I enjoyed myself too because guess what we had for dinner – meat loaf. We finally received from fresh vegetables and do they taste good, lettuce and celery. This new cook we just hired is really good, he spent about 18 years in N.Y.C. so he knows the ropes. Vince is having trouble with his ear again and may have to go to the hospital with it this time. Mike has been transferred to Takamatsu and is madder than hell. I’m enclosing the balance of the pictures I took over the week end and I’ll probably have some more by this week end if the weather is nice. Boy I’m certainly glad you sent me that camera because when I get home we can set down and I can tell you all about the different shots I have taken. By the way dear this month is just about shot and it went pretty fast. If only the next few months fly by just as fast. I’m really anxious to get back in my honeys arms, this time to stay forever. Honey I love you and always will so in your arms is just where I want to be. Just give me my Fran thats all I ask, she’s all I want. Honey I still have quiet a belly but I’m going to let you work that off me the first couple of weeks I’m home. I don’t know of any better way to loss weight so I assure you it won’t make me mad. Well honey I’m still asking you to be a good girl and keep waiting. Give my regards to your mother & dad, Geo. & Blanch, and all our friends. Keep writing dear and please be good.
