July 23, 1944.
Sun. Eve.
My Dearest Tom,
How is my Darling feeling today? I sure do hope just fine. I am ok but I do feel awfully lonesome and blue and I would sure like to see you.
I got up
this morning at 9:30 and went to Sunday School and
Church at the
After
dinner I tried to call mother up but she didn’t answer. So I called Texter’s and found out what time they were starting up to
We all go to work now for the next two week’s on the 7 to 3 shift. But I guess next week they are going out to Sugar Creek and stay in a cottage for several weeks but I am not going because I wouldn’t be able to get my letter’s from you or be able to do much writing either with 7 or 8 girl’s around.
I sure do hope and pray if you are moving that everything goes alright.
Sweetheart, “I love you” with all my heart and soul and I always will. I sure am wandering what you are doing now and every – minute of the day.
Aunt Maude told me to tell you “hello” also.
Mother and
Dad and Lois just came so I stopped to talk and then Texter’s
finally came and then Dad decided to bring us on up to
It was 10:00 when we got here and we had trouble with the lights in our apt. because they went out so we had to go down and get our landlady to get them fixed. It was a fuse burnt out so it took a few minutes to get it fixed again. Dad & mother left before they could get them fixed because Dad wanted to get up early tomorrow morning. They finally got it fixed and now we are settled again. I hope. I am so nervous now I don’t know what to do. I am also sleepy and am going to bed.
Mother said she wrote to you last week one day so you will be getting a letter.
I am going to close now so until tomorrow. With all my love and lots of kisses.
Your Wife,
“Ruth Alice”
“I Love You”
