Saturday morning

My Darling Jim,

I have a few minutes this morning so I decided to start my letter to you because I am going over to the bank at 9:00 to get Pauline’s and my check cashed because last night was pay night.  Then when I get back I want to go to bed and sleep a couple of hour’s because at 2:30 I am to meet your Mother and Annabelle over town if nothing happens that they couldn’t come they are to be there and I am supposed to go down with them and then she said that I might have to come back upon the bus tomorrow and I didn’t know when I would get my letter written so I though when I have to wait now I might as well start with it.

I sure do hope that everything is going alright with you because it is pretty well with me.

It is kind of cold out this morning but I suppose it will warm up later on.

Darling, I sure do miss you and I wish that you was here with me and we could be together for always.  I sure do hope that time does come real soon.

I saw in the paper today where Marion Allaman was down seeing Francis in Maryland where he is stationed now he had been in Texas and she out there with him for quite awhile.

Hazel, Stella and I went bowling last night and we got to bowl for three games before the leagues wanted the alley but just didn’t seem to do very good.  My highest score was 123.

I sure do wish that 8:30 would soon get here so I can get overturn and back again because I feel like I would sleep pretty good for awhile.

I wasn’t so terrible busy last night like I am sometimes.  I have one more week of 11 to 7 then I will go back to 7 to 3 and you and mentioned in your letters of trying to keep track of when I work but you aren’t right because I never work that 3 to 11 shift anymore but I guess after this week it is going back to three to eleven if everything is true of what we hear.  I haven’t worked the 3 to 11 shift all summer.  It is now 8:00 and I wish it was 8:30 then I will start overturn.

Today must be poppy day because they were around last night selling poppy’s which were made by Disabled Veterans.  So I got myself one.

Pauline went right to bed when she got home and Helen is still in bed because she worked from 3 to 11.  She never works the 11 to 7 because she don’t like it but I rather like it.  How are getting along on it by now.

I am going to close now until later on in the day so good-bye now.  “I Love You” with all my heart and soul, “Sweetheart”.

            Saturday evening

Hello again my darling,

Well I went over town so I was over there at 9:00 and them I came right home and went right to bed.  I then slept until almost two o’clock and I got up and took by bath and got ready and went over town to meet your Mother and Annabelle.  I didn’t know for sure whether they would be up because I got up it was raining out but I went over and I found them in at one of the 5 and 10 cent stores.  They finished with there shopping and them we stopped in at Paul and Myra’s for a few minutes and then we come on out to Ruth’s for a few minutes and then on home.  Your Dad isn’t here because he is up at camp but your mother said that he was coming down on Monday to vote and then he was going back up again for the rest of hunting season as he always does.

We ate supper and talked for a long time and I showed her the picture you sent me and I also gave her the one you sent for her.  We then did the dishes and sat and listened to the radio and then at 10:30 we bothe decided to got to bed.  We are going to go to Church tomorrow morning.

Darling, I LoveYou with all my heart and soul and you just don’t have any idea just how much I do miss you.

I am going to close for tonight and get some shut eye so until tomorrow I am your forever,
