Dearest
Sally-girl,
I love you and miss you terribly It
was a long hot trip. I had to wait 1 ˝ hrs. in HBg [Harrisonburg] However- I met the 5:22 in Phil. It was 35 min. late. I was 25 min
late getting in at Providence. I was on the Ben at 12:30 and logged in. It was terribly hot.
Well, to day, I find I must pass my
Physical Exam again before they will accept me. I am 202 and 190 is all I can
weigh. So, I am talking in weight 12 lbs. I will not let weight stand in the
way.
I will be J.G. [Junior General] but
I will not get it if my weight is more than 190. Yes- after I weigh in at 190,
then it is different. Everything else is fine eyes, ears, nose, throat, lungs,
heart, etc.
Now- don’t say anything because I
must make that weight. ‘Nowadays if you pay my thing and I fail to make it that
won’t be so good. We’ll - I’ll make it - you just see.
Everyone is talking and I don’t dare
miss
7:30 P.M.
I just finished my wash and pressed
my pants. Now- I must wash my jumper and then exercise some more.
12 lbs is a lot but I can do it
easily. Now I am talking to you only. Just keep this letter to yourself and I
hope by the time you get it - I have a different story to tell.
When I get a chance - I’ll get a
watch.
Now hold tight and I’ll get you the
right answer.
Love – with all of it.
Aldie.
