Dear John,

This is the second letter I have started- must finish this one. We are having more fun than enough. I came up here Monday afternoon- 5 P.M. -9 P.M. in the worst passenger jams on the bus. That’s what we get for riding buses isn’t it. Well, after a long drawn out journey, we got here worn out. That night fell and high water couldn’t have awakened me. I thought that a very appropriate saying, please excuse use of word.

But then I reckon I should start with Saturday evening when I received your “special”. I was almost too excited to open it. All the family thought it was worth something (reasons only knows what) to see me so excited. Well, John you do say the sweetest things and stuff, I do know the meaning of your French phase, had I will discuss that sometime in person if you don’t mind understand? After that I played poker with the family and won seventy- five cents. Some fun! Please don’t take that as an indirection that we are gamblers, for we only play about four or five times a year. It’s sinful I hear.

Sunday, my father took the company out to see the historical interests of Fred. We enjoyed Wakefield very much, and gathered Mom herbs and things then with the assistance of an elderly guide. Then we went to Stratford which is the ugliest place I have ever seen- it is positively barren- about twenty pieces of furniture in al being present in the entire house. Sunday night we sat around gabbing about nothing in particular- mostly family mess.

Yesterday we spent the day uptown. I nearly spent all of my money – I have my ticket home thank heaven. Last night we went to see a distant cousin of mine who is eccentric. I nearly died laughing at her. She tries to be so proper and stuff. My aunt is about the split her sides laughing over her “properness.”

Today we are going to the show uptown to see “Boom Town” Heavens only knows what we evil do tonight. I am leaving here Thursday night so you can address my letter here if it should arrive before then (c/o Mrs. John Kilian) or to 438 Pitman Place, c/o Mrs. Albert Tankhamel)after Thursday night.

As for my “best beaw” I don’t go with him any more for we had a little misunderstanding about general principles and mess. His ideas and mine cause absolutely foreign to each other. now----

I know you must have had a lovely week-end. I adore promptness, by the way now I really must get dressed for my aunt is waiting to go out. Be good and write soon, for I love to get letters.

                                                                        Love,

                                                                             Margret
