Dear Johnny,

Well, how did Santa Claus treat you? He was pretty good to me.

I would have written to you sooner but thought maybe you’d come down xmas day. But now I’m hoping you’ll get down for New Years. You better try awful hard, cause I really do want you to come.

Have you been working hard? I hope you haven’t been working too hard. How is your mother? Has she come home yet? Are you still cooking? I bet I can beat you- I made some swell cookies the other day.

I really had a swell time the other nite when I was with you (“Why don’t we do that more often?”) mother and I started to go home Sun. afternoon instead of staying over till Monday morning, but gosh! Am I glad we didn’t. That nite was pretty good. I’m coming to Rich. one day this wk. Probably Wednesday to get some clothes, so I’ll call you, and then you can tell me whether you’re coming down for Jan 1^st or not. Maybe you’d better write to me and tell me cause something might happen and I wouldn’t get up. So answer real real soon.
