My Darling,
Here is the new stationary. Hope this is heavy enough.
There are a lot of things to tell you about this time. I’ll start with Wanchie (my dog). She was lost for 10 days. When we finally found her she was just skin and bones but she has a good appetite and that’s encouraging.
Carlton has landed. Jean doesn’t know where and she hasn’t heard direct from him yet, just a card from the gov.
Mamma and Daddy were up to see me this past week and it sure did make my little heart happy to see them again.
Remember Peaky? Well she and Finke were married about two weeks ago. They were married on a Saturday nite and he had to leave on Sunday. Then she saw him again the following Sunday and now he has gone away and she doesn’t know when she’ll see him again. The Bradleys gave her a shower last nite and Boy! You should have read some of the advice given the bride. It was really gruesome.
Here it seems like I’m all out of news now except for the fact that I miss you and that ain’t news.
It was good to see you again but when I look back on it, it hardly seems you were home at all. You just seemed so strange and I was just all riled up. In fact I still am. But maybe time will straighten me out, I hope so anyway.
Be sure to let me know if you hear from O.E.S. and here’s wishing you lots of luck darling.
It’s time for supper now so I’ll have to say by for this time. Write soon if you can.
Lots of love,
Bessie
