Darling Lady,
The good old
mail seems to be back on schedule as the last two letters from you have arrived
in the usual four days. Hurrah and huzzas. That more like
it. I was also glad to hear that you at last got some of my letters even if
they did all come in one bunch. Now aren’t you sorry that you jumped my frame?
I feel just like you my sweet about the mail and long for your letters so you
are totally forgiven for I to have been on you about
it. Thanks to the mailman for all kind favors received though.
I see that
the Dallas trip
is finally materializing and by now you are off or rather in that town of
towns. Have a big time my dear but don’t forget you old pal in Panama.
I am indeed
interested in the news of all the orders for our RF boys. See that they are all
going at once. Are they glad that they are now actually going? I was especially
surprised about Nick’s orders. I think that he will probably like that better
than Britain
or do you know? Anyway it will be nice to have Eileen there right handy with
you for you have both always seemed to like one another a lot and it will be
good company. At last Tommy is going to get going and I know that he is glad
about it. Well more power to them all I guess the luck or fate is the biggest
factor in the whole thing anyway. As I told you just recently here I am and
very available, it is up to them. I do hope that the promotion goes through
before any more is made however. I am so surprised that things are like they
are at RF about all this rank business. It is so silly and uncalled for. I do
believe that girls like fan the flames of such things and then the other girls
get on their high horse. Thank the good lord many times my lady is one of good
sense and sound judgment and doesn’t stoop to such petty bickering. What a life
to lead with the terrible state of things worrying and fretting over such
trifle. Imagine the boys up there doing the shooting getting involved in such
stuff. We would lose the war in a week that way.
Darn
Cornett is sure lucky. Did he put in for that school?
We are off
to a big critique this PM before all the brass hats and high mucky mucks on the
mauve just completed. Thank the Lord I do not have to worry at least this time
for we did O.K. I would not like to be in some of the other shoes though.
Things were a little blah in some sectors. Well maybe it will be my turn next
time. Cross those fingers my little bird. You should see Pops figure almost
down to what I was in Tulsa.
Now isn’t that nice. Ill
try to stay that way until I can present myself to you
personally my dear. This old time really creeps doesn’t it? Loads
of love to you darling mine. Adios.
