Lady Love,

A note from you this morning written the following night after I called you up. I too was upset regarding to cut-off that evening for I was prepared to talk a bit regardless of the long distance situation. I guess that every returning soldier uses the long distance phone from there so they just cut you off especially if you are using a pay phone. In the hotel I was in the Navy has complete sway and all the room phones are cut off so you go to the pay phone when they call you. I guess they have to do that or they would be beaten out of their shirt in a short order. It was nice talking to you again.

As for the remark I made about the possibility of not get- the leave we have talked so much about. Don’t misunderstand dearest for I fully expect to get it. I recent message from Washington was on my mind and I was turning over the possibilities and guess that I conveyed the wrong impression. As far as I am concerned I expect to squawk loud and long for this leave and I expect to get it. My outfit is in good enough shape to get along without me for thirty days and if it is not then they had better get someone else. It is not like the days at RF when we were expanding and planning everyday and the ones concerned had to be on hand to push it thru. If I am with you my dearest for as long as I can make it and I am not going to let anything in my power stop it.

Sure I am piggish about the mail. What’s wrong with that? AND no you don’t write to often. Honey it is often awkward for me to get a letter off to you from some of the places that I have to be and often the time is hard to get to write a decent letter on these trips but I do my best and I know that you understand for I write as often as I can and think of it much oftener. I’ll do my best little one.

Heh quit telling about all the news that you know and then putting it off until sometime later which never seems to arrive. If you have news my TOOTS put ‘er out or I will skin you alive upon receipt of the body. I was interested about the Keiglers (?) and I know that Charlie will be glad to get him. He is a good boy. I will get to a further report on the last trip at a little latter date my sweet and answer some of your questions about Mrs. R but for the moment I will have to say I love you sweet and adios for the time being.
