(How’s That)
Darling lady mine,
I have your
letter of yesterday and am I glad that the censor was not in an idle mood and
looking for something to do. As a matter of fact it would make no difference to
me and I repeat that your incoming mail is not censored. I also swell up with
pride at your statements. My, my Pop is doing better nowadays. I still remember
that refusal and to think that I finally achieved such an undreamed of state of
affairs. Maybe my lady is doing the
aging.
Things have been very busy here as I have told you and there is no let up at present but it cannot be a topic of conversation as you know/I only wish that it could for then I could write you an interesting letter. There has been nothing, absolutely nothing that I might write you of. Geo. L has been away this week but is to be back in a day or so. Before he left he said he was giving a party this Saturday and that I was to come. I really am not very interested for it will be hot and the drinking will be the main event as usual, so I shall make my appearance and then be back to my bed early/Sounds sort of goody goody but that’s the truth my dear. He owes a number of people I take it as these General Officers have to get about a bit and is having me I suppose just because.
I forwarded you a letter for General Harmon that I would like you to get the address on which I believe that mentioned in my last letter. I also sent you some photos which I would like to keep. If you like them I have some very nice enlargements of them that were given to me yesterday, about eighteen inches, the big kind. If you want I will send them along but for what I do not know.
Did you buy those bonds? They are giving me a fit around here about bonds for my outfit is not responding very well and of course being the top hand I have to be able to say-----. I got paid yesterday and the check went off so please check on it dear when you can. I feel that we---oh, we have talked that over so what is the use of going over it again.
Darling mine I love you so, I have a mental picture of you standing there in the doorway of that nice white room sans--- and it is with me a lot, vividly so and every time I think of it I am overjoyed with happiness that I have you my very dear. Adios and more love.
Edwin
