Darling Mine,
Little
Bug there is very little to talk about today but I have your letter forwarding
the one from Elizabeth Marr. Quite interesting to hear about the boys in China though I
am sure that the interest and glamour will soon wear off once they are down to
work and have gotten used to being there. The dirt and filth of most all
countries except our own soon gets one down plus just the plain lack of
everything one is used to. I was a gentleman and did not go into her paragraphs
about the physical troubles. My, my. I think that she
has it wrong about Gabe for he is in New
York or at least was and I am sure of that for we
have had a letter or two from him. He was due to stay there for a while
according to the plans. Afterward he is to have twenty days leave so he might
have gone to California
but I doubt it.
Honey I
guess that I told you that when I got back from the outer areas that I had five
letters from you. The mail seems to be coming along OK once more. I wonder
whatever happens to it just every so often? I appreciate
very much your trying to keep the mail flowing darling and it is so welcome.
We have
been very busy lately operating to beat the band and I think we will for awhile
yet. The irregular hours gets me down up all nite or
at the crack of dawn just one then the other. You know I like my sleep at the
regular hours. Just the same I hope to have a game of golf with Geo.L and a couple of others tomorrow afternoon. We try to
get out on Wednesdays and Saturdays whenever we can. Its
hot as the devil but the exercise seems to keep one feeling more peppy and not
so darn loggy as when you don’t get it.
Jimmy left
for California yesterday to attend some kind
of a conference and will meet Helen in SA on the way back and fly to Mexico City with her for
a fifteen day leave there. He was very anxious to do so but as all the rest of
us up till the last day didn’t know whether he would get his plans thru or not.
He wanted Helen to have a good rest and change since having the baby so
recently. He had to get it in now so his sister could tend the baby before
school started as she is a teacher. I still have our trip in mind and will let
you know when the stars look right for the asking of it. Of course I cannot go
now till Jimmy gets back about the twentieth of August.
Darling
lady mine I send you all the love I posses and am missing something terrible
these days. Adios.
Edwin
