Tuesday
Darling Mine,
Just had a note from you and am answering it immediately (for a change you say?). Now first and foremost I want to gripe a little. I went to the trouble of figuring out fates and mail delivery and special delivery so that I could have you a letter delivered on our anniversary and which duly worked out Justas I had planned it. Today you little Vixen, I receive a letter saying that I had passed up the third of August without a thought of you and with the usual tone you use in matters of that sort. Now is that nice? I am going to have to take my little punkin’ in hand one of these days. Either her memory is short or she is a little too much of the fighter type of pilot, enough is not enough. How about that, Honeybuncher? I am not mad with you Toots but please take back what you said for I really mean that it hurt a little bit when you said that. As a matter of fact I think of your everyday and all the time. You are my one interest in life and everything I am doing or planned to do is influenced by you. Gee, and I thought that I had conveyed my thoughts to you of that day so that they would mean something to you. Maybe it is me that is on that sentimental side for a change. Oh, well next year we will do better.
I am not surprised about Annejoe. It seems to me that married to poor old worn out Bake certainly does not give her the life that might be expected for a women her age. I could not say that she is what you call actively married in all its phases if you know what I mean. Certainly not much to look forward to that a cinch. I hope that she is better soon. That is a new one moving in to a hospital together and next door to each other. I don’t think it is as wonderful in a hospital even if they do say it is wonderful everywhere.
I am not to happy about the old man moving back to the apt house again. He will be a nuisance I know. Remember this. He cannot move you out by law. I even have my doubts that he can move the Poplars out if they want to stay due to the housing laws that have been established since the war unless he can show some just cause like not paying rent or something. They ought to hold him to it if they want to stay. When a guy runs an apt it is not at his whim and fancy these days. Let me know how it turns out.
Sure seems that according to the dates you quote that my letters are taking a longer number of days to get there. From the fourth to the eleventh is much longer than usual. Maybe that is why you have been griping sweet lady because Pop is writing regularly. Gosh darn it I know for I do the typing. Love and kisses to you dearest and all the love I posses. Adios,
Edwin
