Sunday
Darling Lady,
Tomorrow
there will arrive in the
I played
golf in the middle of this Sunday today and let me tell you it was hot. I sort
of fell it now, a little too much sun to be exact. We had a problem on and I
could not get away until it was finished which ruined my schedule for the day
so I along with the Englishmen and the mad dogs went out in the midday tropical
sun. They aren’t smart I guess. Alright I won’t do it again. Geo L went out sail
fishing early this AM and this afternoon brought back the biggest sailfish that
I ever saw. Eight feet ten inches and over a hundred and fifty pounds. They had
real luck having hooked five during their trip. That is real sport though I
have never tried it. Might get a chance before I leave here but the season is
over by the end of this month so I doubt it.
I can’t
tell you definitely whether it will be October or November on the school and
leave proposition. I just talked to A-I and I will know in a few days depending
on another fellow who is involved. I am incline to think that October is going
to be alright but must wait for this letter to arrive from Taylors family OKing
the setup as we now have it planned. He ranks me and has the first choice but
has proposed taking it after me (at my request if the plans fit in with his
family which he really desires to do) therefore I think my dear that by next
week I can tell you that on October eighth or ninth I will be in your arms at
Orlando Florida to be followed by a wonderful leave in the fall of the year.
Boy oh boy but that sounds wonderful to me and I can hardly believe that the
time is so near. Pull for and OK October leave dear so that I do not have to
wait until the following month.
I hope to
get to
Had a
letter from Gabe Disosway and he is being reassigned in the States. He says it
looks impossible to get to war now and says that he has given up. He has fought
harder than anyone I know better I guess. It looks as if things should begin to
really take a real turn towards the end very soon now and God speed the day of
its ending.
I have
never heard from Dick in
Sweetheart
mine I believe that I have covered all the matters of our recent letters and
there is another short gap in the mail but I sure hop that it is not like the
last nine day drought. That was awful. NOW in October things will be
different---vitamin A-B-C-D-E-F-G from one to thirty—the only trouble being
that I cannot get the V’s down here. That leaves me in a very in vigorous state
does it????
Darling I
send you my love and devotion and I am longing to be with you once again
darling darling wife—I love you.

P.S. I had to send the birthday gift when I had the
opportunity so please excuse its early arrival Dearest – (Sept 15)
