Dear Nick:
Received your letter today and a few minutes of spare time I decided to
answer your letter, or maybe you wouldn’t hear from me for a long time, because
we’re very busy now and don’t know when I’d find time to write. I was home on
the 7th and 8th [and] had a swell time. I didn’t get to
see Dick. How is George getting along? As [of] yet I am still a buck private,
but maybe I’ll have a chance this month when we get our draftees. I didn’t hear
from Stella B. yet but I had a letter from Anna B. How [are] Squary, Tom, and Dan? Tell them I said Hello! Also Dig. I’ll
have to close, for I have lots of work to do for tomorrow’s inspection. I’ll be
seeing you soon.
Write soon.
So
long,
Steve
Excuse my bad writing.
