Dear
Brother,
We received your letter and were glad to
hear from you. We got the money you [sent]. We got the roof off the house and
we moved the stuff in the barn. Pop’s hand is ok now. We had a letter from Anna
yesterday and she said she might be home in August. We got the lumber, we still
need shingles and plaster for in the house. We got about $50 in the bank yet.
It’s raining today and we can’t do much on the house. The Speigel
man was over [at] our place for money. He will be back on the 5th.
Roy C got a job on the State on the road then putting over the mountain from Macdolnton [?]. He also got another car. A
‘35 Chevrolet. Tell Day that Lefty got a job to. I must close now, can’t
write in the barn very good.
