Dear Nick,
Received your letter and
also the money which we thank you very much. I was terribly disappointed
about you not coming home. Pee Wee didn’t come home either and he also didn’t
answer my letter, he may be in maneuvers and has no
way of getting in touch with us. There isn’t much news around here. August and
the gang came home for over the week-end. I only spoke to Mary. Pop is ready to
put the paper on the roof. Lately we’ve been having rain and some holidays. That
is what keeps Pop back from working. If it would be nice for a while we would
get something done around here. I got all new window shades except for the
living room and the dining room. I want Venetian blinds in there. Nick, how did
things turn out for you about this Army business?
I got two letters from Siller.
So far I haven’t answered any one of them. Well, to-day is Labor Day and we’re
not keeping it as a Holiday.
Well, I think I’ll close my letter now, there isn’t anything to write about any way. Try to
come home as soon as possible. Closing with loads of love and give our love to
George.
Mother,
Dad, Frankie & Sis.
P.S.
Answer soon.
