Thursday evening

My dearest Nick,

Received your letter and it was so sweet dear, and made me very happy. I am very happy, dear, for we love each other.

It makes me too happy for words that you liked my package. I hope to do things for you for I love you dearly. If you were here now I’d tell you.

Darling, my darling, I received a letter from you written every evening and I do the same. Sit up in bed and write to you, just as I am doing now. We have a date each evening, dear, on paper telling each other about our love and what we do.

I, also, am waiting for your furlough, honey, it will be in the spring and everything will be fine.

Honey, I’ve been going in with Mrs. Wilson and Mrs. Mount around ten thirty. They stay at the Rest, dear, for Mother and I. And Babbie, Cyril, or Johnnie drives Jayne and I home.

I had my suit on today with my red and white blouse. I love you, honey.

Honey, I went over to the warehouse today for jewelry. We stopped at the Post Office for stamps and small change. I had it easy all day today, and during my spare time I wrote letters to my family and filed my tax sheets.

How are you, honey? I hope that you are well and happy, too.

I wrapped several small items, such as jewelry today for the boys and I like to do that, only we don’t have much paper or card.

I miss you, dear, more and more each day. I miss all of our dates. I love you, dear Nick, I love you and no matter how lonesome I get, I’ll be true to you and wait for your return, I love you with all my heart.

I usually see Dan on Saturday mornings, but I haven’t seen Dan for ages. I’m going to call him and say “hello” to him. In all my letters, Nick dear, I’ve told you that I love you and I love you. I miss our get togethers after work. Those kisses, dear, that we couldn’t get enough of. How I hated to leave you in the evening. In 814 we slept in each other’s, honey, and that’s how I want it to be always, for we love each other dearly and truly, yes, it is true love.

Honey, I’ll see you again tomorrow and I’m sending all my love and kisses to you, I love you only. May God bless you, my darling. Good night, dear.

            Lovingly yours,

Rose
