Hi Nick:
Not being in the field today gives me time to write
you a line or so. I went on sick call
today and the doctor marked me quarters for a couple days. I’m feeling good, only that I can’t eat so
well. Shorty hasn’t shown up yet. I was in the hospital when he went and he
came into my tent and took my dress shoes along. I talked to the captain on Sunday and he said
that he was going to be one sorry boy.
We also have a sergeant that went over the hill last Wednesday. I haven’t heard from Dub since he wrote me
the card. We are to get 60 some new men
in the next few days. I never told you
this before, but I put my application in for the air corps and took my physical
exam about two weeks ago. Just before
mess this Monday I was called to the orderly room and they said that I’m to go
to the recruiting office tomorrow morning and take my mental exam. Wish me luck.
I’ll let you know how I make out.
I’ll have to be closing now. So
until I hear from you. I’ll be saying so
long.
Your
Bro,
Steve
P.S.
Jake Barson, you know
Clarence Brant’s wife’s brother, made transportation corps. That’s what you get for hand shaking in this
company. We have many more of them.
