Dear Nick,

Still at the same place or did you get transferred? [I] am waiting [for] my notice any day now. [I] see Rose Marie long enough to wave to her but never get a chance to talk to her.  [I] guess George has written you about joining The Merchant Marines. I haven’t heard from him since he left.

I have only seen Ann twice since coming back. She doesn’t come to go with me anymore. Still see you someday the next time we meet and tell you all about it. It is neither of our faults exactly.

Belinsby broke off with Jeanette. She lost 18 [pounds], was in bed for two weeks and is still under the doctor’s care. Buddy. There’s one boy who sure has changed.

Nobody will ever know what I went through when I went home. I wouldn’t have got that opportunity to work with Larry. I wouldn’t be writing this letter to you now, Nick. Someday if you ever run into Johnny or Coleman ask them.

Anyhow, I still feel the same about Ann. And you and I are still good friends.

                        God bless you,

                                    Your Pal, Ian
