Hello,
honey.
Darling!
Your letter came and I’ve read and read [it] so many
times, dear [while] coming home. I love you, honey, with all my heart and
that’s very much.
Honey,
I didn’t do anything today but sit; tomorrow I’ll be very busy. Honey, I’m glad
you went home to get ready for inspection until your barracks are ready. That’s
a nice rest, dear.
Darling
Nick, I know that you will let one know when you know about the furlough.
Someday the letter will come and we will be so, so happy. It’s our turn, honey,
to be together now. It has been so, so long since January 15th.
Yes,
I can see that Ron and Nick will be true. It’s because we are so serious about our
love, dear, and we want to be happy together when all of this is over. We will,
dear, be very much in love-more so after we are married, darling Nick, I
remember everything as it happened in Richmond. We could hardly wait to be in
each other’s arms, all that working, honey, did mean something to us. A lovely
room to be in and it was warm and clean. Honey, someday we may go there again
and ask for the same 814.
Oh
my darling Nick, I miss you too. Each night we wish that we could be together
somewhere alone, our wishing will come true someday, honey, wait and see. Each
night honey, to fall asleep close to you with our arms around each other is
what we want. It’s going to be like that someday, and we will be very happy.
There we will have something to build our lives again-so many things.
Congratulations
honey, for taking the highest grade. Rose is very proud of you, honey, even if
you came out last. Oh, honey, I love you, just love you.
I
came home, honey, combed my hair and fixed it sky high. Took my shower and
honey, a miracle happened. I had energy to write to my parents, brothers and
sisters. It’s remarkable honey. I read a story in the Cosmopolitan and now I’m
writing to my sweetheart. When I close, to bed I’ll go with Nick on my mind. It
would be nice, oh, so nice if you were sitting on my bed. Rose would stay
writing and lo! Guess where I’d be in your arms.
Honey,
by reading our letters we know that we love each other and are very lonesome.
Honey,
I have a few mosquito bites. Honey, didn’t you go to Savannah? Oh why honey? I
do want you to go!
Honey,
again I say I love you. Each evening I say a little prayer for us. I always say
I love you, Nick, before I fall asleep. It’s true, my Nick, I love you so, so
much. It’s you I want and am waiting for. We will be oh, so happy together.
Honey, I have the surest feeling that our furlough will be granted. Honey, I
always use ‘our furlough’. It’s ours, honey.
Honey,
I’m closing now and tomorrow I’ll sit in my bed and write to you, my Nick. May
God bless you, dearest Nick, and take care of you. All my love and kisses go to
you. Now on paper, soon they will be real. Very real, honey. Goodnight, honey.
Lovingly
yours,
Rosemary
P.S.
Honey, I love you.
