Saturday Evening
Honey:
What
are you doing on such a beautiful night?
It’s lovely out, honey, it’s no use wishing.
Honey,
I received your letter that you wrote Thursday evening. It was short, but sweet.
How
are you, honey? I’m fine and very
lonesome tonight. In the afternoon we
were rushed with work. As soon as I got
off the train I hurried to the post office for my mail. No mail- Esta was
there before me. A
letter and a card showing where you work.
I
miss you, honey. Oh if we were together
tonight. How lovely everything would be.
I
saw Ellen this morning. She told me that
she dated a lieutenant over a week.
Honey, I believe you when you say you are true to me. I was also true to you. God knows what I’d do if I knew you went out
[with] someone else. Honey, you mean the
world to me. I love you, honey.
Goodnight,
honey, I’ll see you again. May God bless
you. Take good
care of yourself. All my love and kisses
go to you always.
Lovingly yours,
Rose Marie
P.S. Honey, my letter is short compared to my other
ones. I’m lonesome, dear, for practically
all the girls are out, but me. I’m going
to retire. Love and Kisses
Rose Marie
Hello, honey!
Now that the dorm is quiet, I feel a little happier. Forgive me, honey, for being down in the
dumps. I just love you so much that it
hurts.
Goodnight,
honey, and sweet dreams to you.
